2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

While the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado is nearly identical to the 2010 version on the outside, Chevrolet has done a lot of work underneath including adding a stronger frame and suspension, a new diesel engine with braking and a number of electronic aids.

The brawny Chevy is the personification of a work truck, especially with the new 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel rated at 397 horsepower and a muscular 765 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a new Allison 1000 transmission that Chevy says provides 11 percent better fuel economy than the previous model.

The few exterior changes include a louvered power dome-style hood, a revised grille and a chrome front bumper.
