Chevrolet Impala sees 113 percent year-over-year growth

(May 6, 2014) DETROIT — Chevrolet’s redesigned 2014 Impala sedan has gained nearly 8 percentage points of retail market share since launch – measuring 14.7 percent at the end of the first quarter compared to 6.9 percent a year earlier when the cars first arrived in dealerships.

In addition to the 113 percent year-over-year growth, the Impala was the only vehicle in its class to post a positiv
e gain in average transaction prices, or ATPs, compared to the same period last year.

GM recalling 51,640 model year 2014 SUVs for gas gauge fix

(May 5, 2014) General Motors announced last week that it is recalling 51,640 SUVs from the 2014 model year due to software that may not register fuel levels properly, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

NHTSA said software in the engine-control module in some Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia SUVs may not accurately read fuel levels, possibly resulting in empty tanks or stalled engines that could lead to crashes.

Ford India sells 13,297 vehicles in April, up 83 percent

(April 5, 2014) NEW DELHI, India — Ford India recorded an 83 percent increase in sales in April, selling 13,297 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports, compared to 7,270 units sold in the corresponding period last year.

Domestic sales stood at 6,651 vehicles in April, up 66 percent from 4,003 vehicles; while the company exported 6,646 vehicles, against 3,267 units in the corresponding period last year.
