New Scorsese film to tell story of Lord Montagu, Rolls-Royce

(May 17, 2012) Academy Award winning director Martin Scorsese is joining Lord Richard Attenborough and Anthony Haas to produce the feature film drama SILVER GHOST. The project will be a co-production between Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions and Zuma Productions.

SILVER GHOST will tell the story of motoring pioneer Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu of Beaulieu, his wife Cis and his secret love affair with his secretary and mistress, Eleanor Velasco Thornton.

BMW and Hyundai execs discuss possible engine tie-up

Power and Associates noted in his recent blog that Automotive News and German trade newsletter Automobil Produktion reported that German luxury automaker BMW and South Korea’s Hyundai Group are discussing a possible tie-up or alliance to develop and produce engines, where both automakers would share costs equally.

Fun with bat houses and wood duck nesting boxes

(May 16, 2012) DETROIT — There’s nothing inherently funny about converting scrap Chevrolet Volt battery covers into wildlife habitats such as wood duck nesting boxes to bat houses,  but it makes pretty good cartoon fare just the same.

Instead of sending that material to a landfill, GM reuses it to benefit wildlife, creating more than 150 of them so far at designated wildlife habitat areas surrounding its facilities, as well as other U.S. locations where GM environmental engineers work alongside students and community groups to convert them.
