Nissan Resonance named 'best concept vehicle' in Detroit

(January 18, 2013) DETROIT — The Nissan Resonance has been named winner of the EyesOn Design Award for Best Concept Vehicle. The announcement came just hours after the unveiling of the design concept at the North American International Auto Show. The Resonance concept was created under the guidance of Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and features an efficient, hybrid-electric drivetrain that includes Nissan's proprietary "one-motor, two-clutch" system.

Mazda to develop Alfa Romeo roadster for Fiat

(January 18, 2013) Mazda and Fiat announced today the signing of the final agreement which will see Mazda produce an open-top two-seater sports car for Fiat’s Alfa Romeo brand at its Hiroshima, Japan, plant starting in 2015. The new Alfa Romeo roadster will be developed for the global market, and will be based on the architecture of the next generation Mazda MX-5.

Audi receives two U.S. awards for piloted parking

Rolls-Royce confirms launch of its most powerful model, the Wraith

Ford Fusion Energi has 620-mile range

Audi experiences record-breaking worldwide sales in 2012

(January 17, 2013) It was a record-breaking year for Audi in 2012. The company sold 1,455,100 premium cars worldwide, 11.7 per cent more than in the previous year. In the United States Audi established a new sales record in every month and further accelerated growth from 2011.

By the end of 2012, 139,310 cars had been shipped to the U.S., 18.5 per cent more than in the previous year.

First 2014 Corvette Stingray to be offered at Barrett-Jackson

Volkswagen opens new plant in Mexico, its 100th worldwide

(January 17, 2013) SILAO, Mexico — Volkswagen is further extending its commitment to industry in North America with the opening of the engine plant in Silao in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato. The new factory is the Volkswagen Group’s 100th plant worldwide.

The factory will supply Volkswagen’s North American vehicle plants in Puebla/Mexico and Chattanooga, Tenn., with TSI engines.

Acura debuts new flagship sedan; on sale in March
