MG urban SUV concept will be unveiled in Shanghai

(April 13, 2013) LONDON — The world premiere of a cutting-edge MG CS concept, designed to slot into the compact SUV sector, will be unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show next week. The compact SUV segment is one of the fastest growing areas of the global automotive market.

It’s the latest result of a massive investment in the brand by MG’s owner, the SAIC Motor group, and previews MG’s first production urban SUV. It will be unveiled on the firm’s stand on April 20.

Volkswagen reports 5 percent first-quarter increase in worldwide sales

Japanese companies have massive recall over airbag issue

(April 11, 2013) Japanese automakers including Toyota, Nissan and Honda are recalling about 3.4 million vehicles worldwide built between November 200 and March 2004 due to defective airbags supplied by Takata Corp.

Toyota is recalling about 1.73 million vehicles, including 580,000 vehicles in North America and 490,000 vehicles in Europe. Honda is recalling about 1.14 million vehicles, while Nissan said it may call back 480,000 vehicles. Mazda said it recalled 45,463 units.
