(February 12, 2014) CHICAGO — Outstanding onboard connectivity carried the day for the winners of this year’s Connected World magazine Connected Car of the Year award winners.

The winning vehicles, chosen by the editorial team at Connected World magazine, will appear in the Feb/Mar issue of the magazine. The awards were presented by Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Connected World magazine.

(February 10, 2014) I like the Ford Fusion. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about its stablemate, the Lincoln MKZ. Mechanically these two cars are nearly the same, so it should be easy to transfer my affection from the Fusion to the MKZ, and call it a day. But I can’t.

New car transactions prices up 2.7 percent from year ago

(February 3, 2014) SANTA MONICA, Calif. — TrueCar estimated today that the average transaction price (ATP) for light vehicles in the U.S. was $30,934 in January, up $804 (2.7 percent) from January 2013 and down $422 (-1.3 percent) from December 2013.

Average transaction prices continue to rise and are at the highest levels in the last five years.

Maserati's Super Bowl ad garners highest consumer interest

(February 3, 2014) IRVINE, Calif. — Maserati Ghibli increased 4,250 percent in new-car searches on KBB.com, the most of any advertised model during Super Bowl XLVIII, according to Kelley Blue Book. Other luxury models Jaguar F-Type, Hyundai Genesis and Audi A3 increased 1,733 percent, 838 percent and 813 percent in search activity on the site after the ads aired, respectively.

Car buying habits of Super Bowl cities: Ford F-150, Subaru

(February 1, 2014) CHICAGO — Cars.com conducted a study to evaluate the car buying preferences of the cities home to the teams playing in this weekend's Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. The study reviewed the new car purchasing preferences of more than 300,000 car buyers over the past year in Seattle and Denver, as well as an analysis of most searched models by the shoppers in both cities at Cars.com in the fourth quarter of 2013.
