Honda safety campaign emphasizes dangers of texting and driving

(April 19, 2014) TORRANCE, Calif. —Honda is initiating a new social media program aligned with April's Distracted Driving Awareness Month to call attention to the dangers of texting while driving.

In support of this first-ever National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) initiative, Honda is launching the "Thumbs Up" (#ThumbsUp) social media campaign to reach young drivers by utilizing the emoticons that are essential to millennial texting, along with a video that illustrates the importance of safe driving.

Cadillac, Buick top J.D. Power survey on satisfaction with dealers

(April 11, 2014) WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Two GM brands performed highest in the segment rankings in 2014, according to the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI) Study. Cadillac ranked highest in satisfaction with dealer service among luxury brands, achieving an overall CSI score of 872 on a 1,000-point scale, an increase of 14 points from 2013.

U-Haul ranks Florida, Texas, Vermont as top growth states in 2013

(April 10, 2014) PHOENIX — The results of the annual U-Haul National Migration Trend Report is in, reflecting the nation's top growth states for families that moved during 2013. The report, titled "U-Haul 2013 Top 10 U.S. Growth States," indicates that for states with more than 20,000 families moving, Florida had the highest percentage of growth, with 4.85 percent more families moving into the state than out.

2014 Hyundai Santa Fe wins three-row SUV challenge

(April 7, 2014) CHICAGO — Cars.com has named the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe the winner of the site's 3-Row SUV Challenge conducted by Cars.com, YSA Today and MotorWeek. The challenge pitted seven 3-Row SUV's, all $40,000 or less, against each other in a series of expert and car shopper testing to determine which was the best overall SUV in the class.

In addition to the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe, others tested included the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, 2014 Dodge Durango, 2014 Honda Pilot, 2014 Mazda CX-9, 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and the 2014 Toyota Highlander.

Consumer Reports updates test procedures for child car seats

New-car transaction prices up nearly 1.5 percent in March

(April 1, 2014) IRVINE, Calif. — Heading into the spring selling season, the analysts at Kelley Blue Book today report the estimated average transaction price for light vehicles in the United States was $31,995 in March.  New-car prices have increased by $450 (up 1.4 percent) from March 2013, while decreasing $185 (0.6 percent) from last month.
