Volkswagen Golf R is a true 'pocket rocket'

By David Finkelstein

Even if you're just an occasional "motor head", I suspect that you've heard the term, "pocket rocket!" To define the term, it generally describes a sub compact, or similar size automobile with a higher level of performance being generated from the car's engine. That said, Volkswagen is wanting to draw your attention towards their 2018 Golf R Model.

Volkswagen Passat GT — A performance bargain

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

If the 2018 Volkswagen Passat looks totally familiar, that's because it has been around since 2012 with basically the same look, only refreshed in 2015. Most rival mid-sized sedans have been redesigned at least once since that time.

Volkswagen Golf — Standard equipment abounds

By David Finkelstein

It has been 41 years since Volkswagen introduced the iconic Golf hatchback in the U.S., and now its in its seventh-generation. Known for its forward styling, acclaimed value, roominess for five, fuel efficiency and rolling technology, the five-door compact has been refined and improved to a point in which it's clearly competitive with the likes of the Honda Civic, Kia Forte5, Ford Focus, Mazda3 5-Door and the Subaru Impreza.

Volkswagen Atlas — Family friendly

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

As sales of crossover SUVs exploded, Volkswagen continued to fall behind with just two entries, the slow-selling compact Tiguan and the larger and expensive Touraeg. The two European-style crossovers are highly regarded as well-made vehicles, but have not resonated with the car-buying public. Enter the spacious mid-sized Atlas that gives the German company its first eight-passenger SUV in the U.S.

2018 Volkswagen Tiguan

INDIANAPOLIS — With a name conceived as some amalgamation of a tiger and iguana, the Tiguan was always part car, part SUV and styled like a Golf on heels.  It identified as a Volkswagen, but looked bland.  But, driving it was a spicy delight with that turbo engine propelling it down the left lane of fast freeways.  Well, it’s all new for 2018 and it’s gone from bland to a big spicy habanero.

Volkswagen Golf Alltrack — Go-anywhere wagon

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

If you desire a car-like driving experience, but need extra cargo capacity and desire the light-duty off-road capability necessary for traversing such things as snow-covered roads, then we have the ticket. It's the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack.

Volkswagen Golf — A pleasing hatchback

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

When advising people on what's available in the compact hatchback segment we rattle off several models deserving of consideration. Much to our chagrin we seldom include one of the most classy, refined, fuel efficient and performance-oriented compact hatchbacks on the market — the Volkswagen Golf.

2018 Volkswagen Atlas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A new SUV is coming to Volkswagen showrooms in May. And yes, the VW folks say, its an SUV, not one of the growing numbers of “crossovers” that basically put an SUV body over a sedan chassis. (Though Mark Gillies, senior manager for Product Communications, sees them as “interchangeable terms.”)

Volkswagen Golf Alltrack — Off-road capable

By David Finkelstein

Competing with the likes of the Subaru Outback, the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack for 2017 is a close derivative of the Golf SportWagen. Alltrack solidifies the vehicle’s overall practicality and fun-to-drive nature with the capabilities offered with their standard 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
