2022 Genesis GV70

PHOENIX — For 2022 the Genesis GV70 compact crossover SUV is the latest all-new model and arguably one of the most important product offerings from perhaps the most interesting and fascinating brand in the automotive industry today. Genesis boldly and unabashedly bursts on the scene to compete with varsity brand crossovers like the Audi SQ5, BMW X3 M40i and Porsche Macan S.

Genesis G70 — Refreshed and fun to drive

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(September 5, 2021) We were impressed with the first Genesis G70 compact sports sedan we drove two years ago and we found ourselves even more impressed — you might say smitten — with the newest updated 2022 version we got our hands on a few weeks ago — the 2022 G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige. Not only does this newest Genesis look stunning, it drives stunningly well with outstanding driving and handling traits and exciting straight ahead urgency.

(April 11, 2021) It took longer than expected for Genesis to add a SUV to its lineup. But the wait was worth it. The 2021 GV80 is a startlingly good mid-sized luxury ride that features a stylish exterior, a handsome interior, the latest in infotainment and safety technology, strong performance from its 3.5-liter V-6, and agile handling for a high-riding sport utility vehicle. It's exactly the flagship vehicle Genesis needed to be taken seriously as a luxury brand.

A decade ago Hyundai began building its luxury Genesis brand — with considerable success. The car that started it all is now called the G80, a mid-sized sedan, which has been fully redesigned for the 2021 model year building on the previous two iterations, offering sleek head-turning styling and with more technology, safety features and diving aids than ever before. The G80 package carries the "Wow!" factor.

Genesis G90 — A luxury bargain

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(September 27, 2020) Genesis has earned a trophy case full of accolades since Hyundai spun off its luxury nameplate as a separate division in 2015 to do battle with the likes of Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes, BMW and Cadillac. Its luxury cars — there are now three, namely the G90, G80 and G70 — have already earned their stripes with the G70 winning North American Car of the year in 2019 and the Genesis brand ranking first in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study in 2018 and first in the 2020 Vehicle Dependability Study.

One of the most competitive segments in the luxury ranks is the compact sports sedan. Think BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE, Alfa Romeo Giulia. Now add the 2020 Genesis G70 to the mix. If you have little knowledge of the Genesis luxury brand spun off from Hyundai several years ago know that it has won numerous awards in its short life and the G70 is getting rave reviews in its second year of production.

2018 Genesis G80 3.3T — An all-around winner

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Earlier this year Genesis was named the top ranked luxury automaker in Consumer Reports 2018 brand ratings. Genesis also finished second behind Porsche — and ahead of such vaunted nameplates as Audi and Lexus — in the latest J.D. Power APEAL study, which measures customer satisfaction with a brand. These and other accolades are astounding considering Genesis was spun off of parent Hyundai Motor Company less than three years ago, and currently has only two models.

Hyundai Genesis — New features and a new Sport edition

By David Finkelstein

With a base pricing structure staring at $41,750 the 2018 Genesis G80 is quite a remarkable automobile. Of course, the Genesis line is now framed as Hyundai's premier “up-scale” car division, similar to what we see with Toyota having its Lexus division.
