2015 Ford Focus

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Officially the 2015 Ford Focus is a new model. In reality it’s really more of a facelift. But it’s worthwhile as it now has the same nicely stylish face that has made the Fusion, Focus’s larger sibling, such a hit with those who enjoy owning a good-looking car. There’s nothing wrong with making small cars look attractive and that’s just what Ford has managed with this new so-called Face of Ford style.

2015 Ford Edge

PHOENIX — Has Dearborn-based Ford Motor Company re-invented the crossover with the introduction of the new 2015 Edge? Perhaps not, but undeniably the Edge has gone through many changes with new technologies, additional driver assist/user friendly features, updated engine options and an enhanced level of styling and craftsmanship that raises the bar in the mid-sized segment.

Ford Expedition — Comfortable people mover

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

While large body-on-frame sport utility vehicles are a dying breed, there's still a market for the full-sized SUVs for people who need maximum passenger and storage space, heavy-duty towing capability, and off-road proficiency. One of the remaining vehicles is the Ford Expedition, and for 2015 the big Ford has never been better with a new turbocharged V-6 engine, updated suspension, more interior flexibility, and subtle exterior styling changes.

Ford F-150 — More than aluminum

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

By the time you read this most with even a passing interest in the automotive industry will have learned that the new 2015 Ford F-150 comes with an aluminum body, the first mass-produced vehicle to forsake sheetmetal for the lighter-weight and presumably more fuel-efficient material.

Ford Mustang GT — The best yet

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

There's been much hype during the past year over the all-new version of the iconic pony car, and the flood of superlatives over the 2015 Ford Mustang are mostly true. This sixth-generation Mustang, now in its 50th year of production, is, indeed, the best Mustang ever.

Ford Transit — A capable contender

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

These are the best of times for businesses that need reliable, efficient cargo hauling capabilities. The automotive landscape is awash in new commercial vans that promise a myriad of cargo-carrying capabilities, limitless configurable interiors, vastly improved driving dynamics, markedly better performance, and enhanced gas mileage. You might say we are entering the golden age of big vans.

Ford Fiesta 1.0 — Driving with three cylinders

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

The little Ford Fiesta SFE (Super Fuel Economy) 1.0-liter three-cylinder was a hoot, fun to drive, and as swift as needed for all occasions. The tiny powerplant, winner of the International Engine of the Year award for the third straight year, invites you to simply pick the right gear and be unafraid to flirt with the red line. The smallest Ford EcoBoost engine moves out while delivering 32 mpg city, 45 highway and 37 combined — no battery packs or diesel engine necessary.

2015 Ford Mustang

LOS ANGELES — West Hollywood traffic at 9 a.m. moves as quickly as molasses on a cold day, especially when you have the promise of a run up the Angeles Crest Highway ahead of you. Yet here we were stuck behind half a dozen other 2015 Mustangs and a city bus, attempting to make a left turn against bumper-to-bumper traffic that refused to make any openings. Far from taxing my patience, it became an unexpected opportunity to see how far Ford’s revamp of the Mustang extended.

Ford Fiesta ST — A driver's car

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Whether you’re driving U.S. Route 15, one of the country's great north-south roads that stretches from southern New York to South Carolina or crossing through the Santa Monica mountains to the spectacular Pacific Coast Highway, the ride becomes more enthusiastic when you’re are behind the wheel of vehicle of special performance.

Ford Mustang GT — Getting better with age

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

While we wait with great anticipation for the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang to arrive next spring on the Mustang's 50th anniversary our excitement over the new Pony Car comes with some sadness. We're sad to see the current-generation All-American Mustang GT muscle car, powered by a rumbling V-8, fade into history.
