2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid

PHOENIX — Ford has made some key changes to the Fusion for its 2017 mid-cycle refresh, upping its game in the mid-sized hybrid sedan segment. While Ford decided not to make major changes to the overall looks of the Fusion, there is an all-new front end including new LED headlamps with LED accent strips. The grille is essentially the same shape, albeit smaller, with new options and fog lamps on the lower valance. The look is definitely sleeker and more aggressive.

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Maintaining a fresh look and keeping up with the latest in technology and equipment is imperative in the exploding small crossover segment, and for 2017 Ford has freshened its popular Escape with revised exterior styling, a newly available 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and an improved infotainment experience with the availability of the SYNC3 system. In addition, several safety features have been added.

2017 Ford Fusion

LOS ANGELES — I’m not surprised to read that Ford says the mid-size Fusion four-door sedan is its second best selling vehicle — behind only the F-150 truck. What’s more surprising, in an age when it seems everyone wants an SUV, it outsells the Ford Explorer. Every time I see one on the freeway I am struck by how handsome it looks. Car buffs say it captures “Aston Martin” styling.

Ford Escape — Three engines, new technologies

By David Finkelstein

The Ford Escape has been a solid contender in the midsize crossover utility market, which is being strongly considered by shoppers in ever increasing numbers from coast-to-coast. I recently had the opportunity to test drive the flagship 2017 Titanium, top-of-the line version carrying a price of $34,875 including destination charges.

2016 Shelby Mustang GT350R

FORT WORTH, Texas — Roman author Seneca once said, “Hang on to your youthful enthusiasms – you’ll be able to use them better when you’re older.” So to put it briefly, I’m taking his advice. The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang is the evolution of the Shelby Mustang GT350 first introduced in 1965, and the racing version, the Shelby GT350R, which followed shortly thereafter.

Ford Focus ST — Performance choices

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

"Hot-hatch" enthusiasts demand precise steering, razor-sharp handing, and a large dose of performance from their small hatchback and we admit that we were enamored of the little lightning bolts in the past. Two years ago we fell in love with the sub-compact Ford Fiesta ST, and now we have discovered the slightly bigger Focus ST is a winner as well.

Ford Edge — Getting an edge on the competition

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Ford Motor Company is loaded with sport utilities and crossovers ranging from compact to extra large and with two and three rows of seating. You can make your choice from a variety of vehicles, one of the most attractive being the two-row mid-sized Edge completely redesigned in 2015 for the first time since its introduction as a 2007 model.

Ford Explorer — 25 years of advancements

By David Finkelstein

I can't help but reflect on when I drove the Ford Explorer for the first time many years ago. I was hosting a radio show on CBS back then and trying to explain to my audience the highlighted details on precisely what an Explorer was all about! Based on feedback, I clearly felt that my listeners were captivated on what I had to say about this all new product.

Ford Explorer Platinum — Blue Oval luxury

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Platinum is the new standard for Ford luxury signifying the top of the line — a vehicle loaded with all the creature comforts and safety features currently available. And the company's best-selling SUV of all time, the Explorer, now wears the badge for the first time in 2016.

2015 Ford Focus

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Officially the 2015 Ford Focus is a new model. In reality it’s really more of a facelift. But it’s worthwhile as it now has the same nicely stylish face that has made the Fusion, Focus’s larger sibling, such a hit with those who enjoy owning a good-looking car. There’s nothing wrong with making small cars look attractive and that’s just what Ford has managed with this new so-called Face of Ford style.
